Double Solitaire Keyboard Shortcuts
Your Double
Solitaire playing screen shows the card columns, each with a letter above from tack has the letter S above
it. These letters in combination with M, P, T, U and period (.) give you a set of shortcut
keys which let you play Double Solitaire from the keyboard instead of using the mouse. An experienced keyboard
player can play much faster than an opponent using only a mouse.
The shortcut keys are case-insensitive, i.e.,
both upper and lower case versions of an alphabetic key work the same. They do not require an Enter key.
The following table shows the usage of these
keys:
| A, B, C, D, E, F, G |
These keys by themselves will move the current top of the stack
to column A through G, only if that move is valid for the particular card on the top of the stack.
To move the card from the top of the stack to column E, type E. These keys are also used in conjunction
with the P (play), M (move) and T (turn over) keys.. |
| S |
The S key by itself turns over the next three card from
the deck onto the stack. If the P key is typed before the S key (i.e., PS), the card on the
top of the stack is played into the play area (assuming this play is valid at this point). |
| P |
The P (play) key is used in conjunction with a column
key (A-G) or the stack key (S) to play a card into the play area. The play is executed only
if valid. The P key is always followed by one of the other keys. For instance, to play the top displayed
card on column D, type PD. To play the top card on the stack, type PS. |
| M |
The M key is used to move the cards from one column to
another. It only works on the displayed cards and only if the move is valid. The M key must be followed
two keys, the first is the column from which the card(s) will be moved. The second key is the column to which the
cards are to be moved. For instance, to move from column F to column A, type MFA. If multiple cards are
being moved from a column, the M key will automatically figure out how many to move |
| T |
The T key is used to turn over the top undisplayed card on a
card column after the displayed card(s) have been moved or played off if it. For instance, to turn over the top
card in column B, type TB. |
| U |
The U (undo) key undoes the last move between columns,
from stack to column or turnover of the stack. It does not undo the last card played (once it's gone, it's gone). |
| . |
The period (.) lets you enter the chat mode. You can
also do this from the Chat option in the menu to the lower right hand corner. To exit chat, type the Escape key
or click with the mouse outside of the chat area. |
